The frequency of dressing changes depends on the specific situation:

1. Routine Change Cycle:

- Transparent dressings: Change every 5-7 days

- Gauze dressings: Change every 2 days

2. Special Circumstances:

- Change the dressing immediately if it becomes soiled, loose, or damp.

- Change the dressing immediately if there is exudation, tenderness, or infection at the insertion site.

3. Other Precautions:

- The recommended retention time for the indwelling catheter is 3-5 days, and should not exceed 7 days.

- It is recommended to change the dressing after infusion of irritating medications.
